Privacy notice

This notice explains what personal data the Furaha & Baraka Farms (FBF) website collects, why, where it goes and the choices you have. We have kept it short because the site collects very little.

Last updated:

Who we are

This website is run by Furaha and Baraka Farms Limited ("FBF", "we"), Bankers Court, Greenlane, off Ngong Road, Nairobi, Kenya. We are the data controller for the personal data described here.

For any privacy question, email info@furahabarakafarms.com.

When you send us an enquiry

The enquiry form on our Partner page asks for:

  • your name and email address (required), so we can reply;
  • your organisation (optional), so we understand the context;
  • the topic and your message, so the right person can answer.

We use these details only to reply to you and to follow up on what you asked about. We don't add you to a mailing list and we don't use your enquiry for advertising. Our legal basis is your consent when you send the form, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries about our work.

To protect the form from spam, our server briefly counts how many messages come from each internet (IP) address. This count is held in memory only, for about ten minutes, and is never stored with your message.

Where your enquiry goes

When you press Send, your message goes from our website server to Resend, an email delivery service, which delivers it to FBF's company mailbox on Google Workspace. Our team reads and replies to it from there.

A copy of the enquiry is also written to our hosting provider's server logs (Google Cloud), as a backup in case the email doesn't arrive.

How long we keep it: server log copies are deleted automatically after about 30 days. Resend keeps a delivery record for a limited period under its own terms. In our mailbox, we keep enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with your request and any work that follows, and we delete them when they are no longer needed.

Resend and Google may process data outside Kenya. We use them because they protect data with recognised safeguards, as the Data Protection Act requires for transfers abroad.

Analytics (only with your consent)

With your permission, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful and how people find us. It collects information such as the pages you visit, the device and browser you use, and your approximate location (country or city). We don't use it to identify you.

Analytics is off until you accept it in the banner on your first visit. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which brings the banner back.

Cookies and storage we need

To remember your analytics choice, we store a small item in your browser. It contains only your choice, is needed for the site to respect it, and isn't used for tracking.

The site uses no advertising cookies. Videos are loaded from YouTube's privacy-enhanced service only when you press play.

We don't sell your data

We never sell or rent personal data. We share it only with the service providers named above, who act on our instructions, or when the law requires it.

Your rights

Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to:

  • be told how your personal data is used (this notice);
  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your data;
  • object to our use of your data, or withdraw your consent at any time.

To use any of these rights, email info@furahabarakafarms.com. We will reply within the time the Act allows.

If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya.

Changes to this notice

If we change how the website uses personal data, for example when we add new features, we will update this notice and the date at the top.
